The New NIV - Sarks

Paul says he does not do what he wants to do, but the very thing that he hates. If Paul is depraved and full of original sin, he should not want to do those things. But in fact, he does. Why? Because that's his true self. So it drives me crazy about so much Christian conversation. You are just sin. You are sin. You're filth. That's not what Paul describes here. And yet the battle is so very real. This is what it means to be human to be running after God...and letting him teach us what it Means to Be Fully Human.
