There was a lot of that pushing for intervention in Kosovo too, from other, a broader spectrum of liberals. Underneath all that moralizing was a sense that we're picking on Serbia here and it's going to be easy. There was no calculation this time. They didn't stress the moral stuff. But underneath that was a calculation that made a kind of grim sense. It is easy and completely justified to blame certain individuals for the Iraq tragedy. You try actually lying for war. Now that's hard.
