The FDIC's Datarim: A Process of Negotiation

In the last week of April, it became clear that something had to be done for First Republic. The FDIC invited bids from, I think, a dozen banks altogether. In the end, there were only three major contenders: JP Morgan, PNC and citizens. It's out of that that JP Morgan really emerged as the clear winner.
