Introduction

Theory of divine simplicity is making a comeback in contemporary analytic philosophy. In the Thomistic tradition there are four forms of composition which Aquinas says exist in us now. These compositions are all looked at in I think it's articles two three four and six of the third question of the first part of the summa. When we negate them when we speak about the divine nature that is to say they cannot be attributed to God, then we're basically sayingGod is not a metaphysically composite reality or complex ontologically complex reality. This talk is brought to you by the Thomistic Institute.
