The Middle Class and the Capitalist Class

Karl Marx talks about the middle class in a lot of his works including theories of surplus value he says that between the working class who work the means of production and the capitalist class who own the means ofproduction there's a middle layer of workers. The DSA thinks that by advocating for their own interests they're advocating for the entire working class but they're just not, said Julian Zelizer. It's journalists it's people who work in universities or NGOs also funded by basically the democratic you know basically the government which is in turn controlled bycapitalist parties so those types of workers are the main demographic within the DSA according to Zelizer.
