The Stanford Tree?

In 1971, 24 young men were acting out a role-playing game of guards versus prisoners at Stanford University. They are doing something pretty bizarre in this basement in August of 1971. And they've been divided into two groups, guards and prisoners. Supposedly average kids. But that doesn't answer the real question, which is, why would you have a tree?
