Cortez's Conquest of Mexico

Cortez was a member of the noble hidalgo class. He had a legal education and worked as a notary and treasurer. The letters he wrote to king charles the fifth are one of the great sources of information about the conquest of mexico. But pizarro is more of an enigma. In fact, he was illiterate and could neither read nor write.
