Making Your Own Versions of Songs

When i was about 19 or 20, i started to become obsessed with making my own versions of recording. I tryd to go through and i tryd to programm the drum part exactly as it was in a print song. Try to arrange the vocals and record the vocals with all the harmonies that prince did. That was huge for me. And i think if you love recording and you want to pursue a career making music, recording music, or making your own music, i think a great way to do that is to try to make your own versions of songs and see how close you can get it.
