Oil Bees Collect Scent From Orchids

Orchid bees normally use their secretion from a gland in the moush parts to produce a feddy secretion. So they spit on the legs, and then they scrape it. This was found out by thomas else who is organizing the symposium. But the oil bees don't have this. They don't make their their the legs fetti before with some secretion. And now the oil collection kicks in. That's maybe why all the oil bee males sometimes collect oil ohm,. because they need this oil to dissolve the scent from the inforescence.
