The First Community Based Surveillance of Typhoid Fever in Bangladesh
It's very hard to say how much typhoid there really is in these places. There isn't an easy, reliable test that we can do to show some one's got it. This was the first community based surveillance for typhoid fever in bangladis and also carried out in other countries. We are very, very high burden. In bangadish children will be lethargic, won't be able to eat, they will be stunting,. That can lead to complications. It's not a small disease. And of course, with the pandemic, it's really important not to lose sight of other diseases like typhoid.
