For Augustine this is an apologetic question so when he starts his kind of his story-shaped prayer which is Confessions and also his intellectual journey to Christianity he actually combines those things but he starts with my heart was restless. He sees humans as both moral creatures and intellectual creatures and we can't neatly separate those two, says Dr Allen. And that is going to impact how he does apologetics in a way that I think has increasing relevance in our time," she adds.
