i think we tend to overread that article of faith, don't we? And so that's part of what creates a theological nostalgia for a past that never existed because the church wasn't as full blown and developed. My favorite contemporary theologianis probably david bentley hart. All theological values matter to him, except kindness. But am happy to hear you express these kinds of thoughts,. It seems to me to give added emphasis to the need to shift our focus forward, rather than backward in these these nostalgic ways. Ye, so the stalt is a trap, isn't it?
