Is It a Kidney Bias or an Interpersonal Racism?

Black women have like isn't like three times more likely to die in childbirth in the US than their white counterparts. I will say that researching medical racism was one of the hardest things that I did in writing the book because the history goes so deep and because it's just so pervasive. The big idea is, okay, all of this bad stuff gets embedded in these algorithmic systems as people are just uncritically making these medical technology systems built on top of racist medical systems. And so we really need to unpack the racism underneath in order to build better technological systems. Until we do that, like our technological systems are not going to be fantastic. They're not going to being inclusive.
