The Effects of Estradiol on the Brain
Estradiol peaks just before ovulation, you see an increase in what's called functional connectivity. An increase in the flow of information between different parts of the brain responsible for different functions. No one had recorded change at this rate in a living human brain before. It's thought that this makes the brain more efficient and optimizes cognition.
