The Evolution of the Protection Racket
In the age of agriculture, people around the world started settling instead of being nomads. And when they did that, big hungry guys came around and said, I want a portion of that green. This is developed into empires which are all basically continued to be a protection racket. So it's an evolved system in a way that makes us, that has its own kind of logic and it's kind of a Hobbesian logic. But it's sort of outliving its usefulness and we're kind of becoming much more enlightened with that.
