Nostrodomas Quatrains

In these two quatrains, nostrodomas depicts himself as if he's doing the same thing these oracles did. How literally should that be taken? He is, after all, writing poetry here. So we shouldn't press the poetic imagery in these, or any other quatrain, and assume that they're literal. We need to recognize them for the poetic devices they are.
