I write absolute garbage in my work in process commit messages. Actually most of the time my commit messages whip, but I often misspell it because I'm just kind of smacking the keyboard. So that's what I think people sort of react to when you say like, you shouldn't spend any time writing your git commit messages. That doesn't mean that your pull requests are just like blank pull requests or like the body doesn't just say whip and then you're merging it like that.
