The Battle of Eindhoven

Easy Company were involved in the liberation of Eindhoven which had been occupied by Nazi Germany for around four years. Captain Winters led a charge against an elite group of German SS troops. The original objective of Operation Market Garden was to secure crossings on the river Rhine and the Allies failed to achieve that objective. Around 8 000 Allied soldiers had been abandoned with three quarters of those becoming prisoners of war. Easy Company helped rescue over 100 men from the northern banks of the Lower Rhine River in the Netherlands.
