The Immaturity of the Root

I think too often people who are engaged in a cycle of shameful behaviors think that well, prayer works like a basically like a vending machine where I give you a rosary every day and then you give me this back in return. And sometimes it can even be a substitute for real intimacy with the Lord. So it's not that we're not saying prayer and repentance aren't enough. It's just that it's got to be real repentance and real prayer.
