The sex tourism industry thought to evolve as many as two million children worldwide. Thailand, Cambodia, Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico have been identified as countries where child sexual exploitation is prevalent. Children coerced into sex work by family members out of necessity because tourists will end up paying good money in a country that is overwhelmingly poor leads to most of it. Tourists engaged in CST often travel to developing countries looking for anonymity and the availability of children in prostitution.
