When you're trying to win an election, you don't win it by being a sniper targeting one or two voter groups. You've got to bombard the entire country, really. This country is broadly economic interventionists. We like the idea of nationalizing things and want to look competent doing so. That's why 2019's this labor election manifesto didn't exactly perform well in totality - even though individual policies were popular.
