Hedging a Little Bit Going Into Earnings
Some would argue, hey, some of the most powerful moves of some of these stocks come from those earnings catalysts. So in this environment, we want to have more protection on going into these earnings calls. If you're just buying a put option on the stock, even though that put option is going to cost you some money, if you do see a huge pop to the upside, as long as you haven't sold calls and cut off the upside,. you'll still benefit the stock will still go up more than you lose on that put option.
