The Future of Energy Storage

We have about 23 gigoats of pumpd hydro storage on the system. Some of it has been there for many decades, and that has really helped the grid. But due to rapid technology cost declines for batteries in particular, we could see hundreds of gagoats of storage in the future. And so for battery storage, we see a capacity growing at least three thousand times largery 20 50. That's starting from a very low base.
