"I know what it's like to be there and you're not going anywhere in that situation," she says. "These are the emotions that are coming up right now. I don't want to fight or resist them." A meditator might say, 'That grudge doesn't really feel like it's serving an immediate sense of feeling good' But we could tell this last 30 minutes did not put me in a better place for sure to enjoy my life for the next 30 minutes.
Maybe you want to dismiss your grudges, like they’re petty incidents. Or maybe you hold them tightly, and wear them like badges of honor. Either way, we have them. And we’re taking the view that there’s more going on with our grudges than we think.
