Is Spider Silk Stronger Than Steel?

Black widows can feel the vibrations of their prey trapped in their web, which i think is very interesting. People are trying to produce different kinds of spider silk for use in bullet proof vests and what not - but we can't manufacture them into fibrles. The things that we can't replicate are the spinnerets, weaving it into a fibre. We could put the gens in to bacteria would ever make clumps of spider silk, but we can’t manufacture them into the fibrle.
