The Left and the Right as Hyper Reality
Much of the outrage on the left and the right is actually a feature of hyper reality. The concept indicates the inability of consciousness to distinguish reality from a simulation of reality. These simulations are conjured up by in-group consensus and an obsessive focus on the parochial. Can these thoughts be chewed over as part of the feast and as an important evaluation of our political age or does the reactive heckling have to start immediately?
