You Can Be Southern, but You Will Not Speak Country

There is something about a British accent and, and to some extent, even Australian. And of course, a southern accent. I was actually sort of taught to not let my accent get very thick because there is a perception or there was maybe things have changed that southern and or country country is not southern,. But the two are kind of synonymous sometimes that people will think you're uneducated. My own mom's upbringing and how she was sort of shamed by a very cranky, a family member and her youth.
