The effect of a romantic split can have on your social life is enormous. People who have recently rejected their partners often develop obsessive thinking. In a man, they're more likely to distract and avoid feelings. Women more likely to obsess and ruminate. This may be because women have been socialized to take more responsibility for relationships. And we really have to understand that we have to get back out after a breakup.
