How Did Your Father Use to Say Devretora?
There was a lot of humour at the shabes table. My father knew every single joke, i think, ever written in the world. He would tell you casitic stories when he was tucking you in at night. The sabbath is really a kind of outpouring of jewish texts on shabat that he put into modern english language for a modern reader to have access to these teachings. It's had a lot of imitators. None of them have come close to writing a work that presents the majesty of sabat.
