McCarthy: There has to be some way for university officials to dismiss complaints on a summary basis. The reason that emerged from my research is that even when it was clear that the sex ring accusations make no sense, the university didn't seem to have any formal protocols of how they would deal with them. He says there are many elements in science fiction we're seeing now and people who say things like 'there was a soap factory made out of our bone' don't really mean what they say.
