The Cost of Redeeming a Female Slave

Most scholars believe what's happened is she sold herself into slavery to another person. The Bible says in Leviticus that the cost to redeem a female slave is 30 shekels. She's with another guy, but now the text implies she's not with him voluntarily. Why? Because when Hosea goes to get her, he's got to pay for her.
