Classical Liberalism and Pluralism Are Not Utopian Visions
If we're going to have a pluralistic society, which is really sort of the fundamental beef people have, is they want less pluralism. Pluralism means I win, but I might not permanently win, and you might lose, but you're not going to go away. And what Alexander says is that classical liberalism is almost like an alien technology for the avoidance of civil war. So he argues that all totalitarian and authoritarian regimes operate as enterprise associations.
