In 1912, Francisco Madera was celebrating his first anniversary as president of Mexico. That year had been defined by a steady stream of challenges to his fledgling administration. Despite all those rebellions, most of Mexico was mostly stable most of the time. And then on one tiny front, Madera was quite pleased by the end of the year.
