The Government's Plan to Not Appoint an AI Regulator
The government says existing regulators will have to incorporate AI into their briefs. If you feel like you've been discriminated against by an algorithm making a decision about you based on your gender or, you know, something like that, then you will go to the Equality's Commission just like you were doing any other walk of life. It is going to become part of everyday life but it's really difficult to understand the ins and outs of AI. And I'm slightly worried that we might find that these regulators are just a bit overwhelmed when they ask for the some evidence...
