The Hindenburg Airship
Of the 97 people, 35 perished in the disaster. Of those, 61 were crewmen and only 36 were passengers because the flight had not sold out. The first confirmed flights of an airship came in 17 83 when the french mongofier brothers flew one with test animals to prove it was safe before putting humans up there. Less than six years after the french revolution, all three animals survived - they used a rooster as a control since most birds can't fly high on their own.
