Vassan's Journey to Freedom

Vassar, a transgender man, served in Afghanistan for eight months. He returned home to Canada and struggled with the transition from military to civilian life. Vassan decided it was time to contact his support group he had discovered before going there. They invited him to come to a meeting in person where he heard testimonials from transgender men and women. And everyone in the group called him Vassan - because he was a man.
