i think plato was right when he said in the laws that this is a place where you can't really legislate, right? You cannot tell people the way they ought to ter relationships. But i do think it's important for us to be able to subject the structures of our intimate relationships to philosophical critique. And that's what we want to do today. Even if we can't tell people what sorts of relationships they should be in or shouldn't be in. That's not our job.
