The Importance of Friendships

We must not forsake nor neglect the friendships that nature or former duties require you to cultivate with relations, kindred benefactors, neighbors, and others. Form no other kinds of friendship than this. No one surely can deny that our Lord loved St. John, Lazarus, Martha, and Magdalene with a more tender and special friendship than others. For those who dwell among worldly people and desire true virtue, they must unite themselves together by holy and sacred friendship.
