The End Point of the Religion as Art Is Comedy
The end point of the religion as art, however, is comedy. Slick i ret his idea is that come is closer to revealed religion. Comedy involves the infinite making itself finite. And so in a way, it reverses the direction of tragedy. Like tragedy s about the finite trying to assert its infinitude and hold on to its infinitudes even within the finite world. Comedie's about the infinite having to deal with its finitude. I mean, i just stole something from my own little, stupid book on comedy.
