Chaucer's the Fickle Lover

Chaucer was a government ser for much of his adult life. He had acquired certain annuities, or long term payments as a reward for his loyal service to the crown. Chaucer may have known that henry would enjoy this type of satirical poem written to his empty purse. But unfortunately, he died a few months later. The poem itself is relatively short. It only has 26 lines. Those lines are divided into three stanzas of seven lines each. And then there's that short concu in section called the envoy which consists of five lines.
