This was a kind of a edgy and unusual notion that the church was not entirely comfortable with. But for several hundred years, they didn't formally condemn it either. It actually gathered a certain number of followers around europe who subscribed to this apocalyptic notion of history. So this was a school of thought that was a apocalyptic but it was optimistic.
