The Case for Female Deaconesses in Church History
There's a strong case for women deaconesses in the New Testament, but many Baptist churches don't have female deacons. A lot of complementarians are under sensitive to obeying that strand of biblical teaching in relation to say 1 Timothy 2. Women prophets, female prophetesses throughout the Scripture, it's all over. I'm also really concerned about the way the term complementarianism is associated with abuse and or a sinful expression of power.
