Jay Parini: El Dopa is able to wake people up out of a frozen state. In the 70s in the Bay Area, there was a bad batch of MDMA ecstasy that was made. People used it at a rave and they were frozen, they could not move. They had an advanced Parkinson's induced by the medication. And they basically weren't, it was like the worst advanced Parkinsonism you can find.
