I interviewed Bart Erman, because he just released a book as well on Revelation called Armageddon. And his take is pretty much like, Revelation is an incredibly violent book and paints of a version of Jesus that wants to kill everyone. But here's the odd thing, you know, Bart is not alone with people who want to criticize the book of Revelation for their literalism. They want this to be literal in order to get their negative point about Jesus. I don't think it's literal. It could be used by people in a bad way but no, that's that's not the way this book supposed to be read. John chose to write apocalyptic literature, he was locked into apocalyptic literature
