Some of the Tory supporting newspapers have shown their sort of clunky hypocrisy in their coverage of the rob case. They have been predictably sympathetic to rob, whereas if it had been a Labour cabinet minister, he or she would have been slaughtered by them. The assumption of mightiness is false, even on that very basic premise about where power lies within an elected government. But beyond that, cabinet ministers don't last very long. And what a prime minister says and does at key moments is all important, not what a cabinet thinks. Rishi Sunak set out his kind of five missions for his premiership.
