Is the Stock Market Volatile?
Brain activity in the nucleus accumbens predicted the next day's stock prices. The anterior insular appear to be particularly good at tracking drops in value following a rise so-called inflections. And interestingly the areas that are implicated in this study have been associated with those who make particularly risky choices or who are particularly risk-averse.
