It's really a question of taste effectively, you've got a factory function. That makes me feel dirty. Either way, I prefer to avoid using this and just use a closure to store all the common the common state if I need to have common state. But yeah, in the Crockford talk, which again, I don't remember which one it is, but it's something after the end of all things. He puts this up on slides and stuff and demonstrates what we're talking about.
