A lot of people in our sphere had smart child syndrome where they were aware at school that they were probably one of the smarter guys in the room. These firms are much more selective than even top university programs. It's an order of magnitude more difficult to get onto a top engineering team at Google. If you look at James Spangler or whatever, it's quite astonishing what some of these teams are capable of just because they've got so many reps under high pressure.
