Shinaid's Impact on My Childhood
The film was made over many, many years and made because of the impact she'd had on me as a young girl growing up in Ireland. My father introduced me to Shinaid's music in the late Edis. Her album The Lime and the Cobra became the special soundtrack to my early childhood. And then in the early 90s my friends and I felt like we really discovered for a second time and could really see how she looked, heard what she had to say. She has always used her platform to speak out against injustices and what she felt was wrong in the world particularly at home in Ireland.
