Mansamusa's Journey to Becoming the King of Mali
Mansamusa was an alite member of the mali court serving an eccentric old king named abu baka. King became convinced that it would be possible to sail far enough across the atlantic ocean that he might reach the other side. The arab historian shihab alumari once spoke to mansamusa and recounts the king's version of what happened next. Dawola, before me believed that it was possible to reach the end of the ocean tha the earth. So he equipped 200 boats full of men and good water and food enough for several years. They set out. Their absence extended over a long period of time, and at last, only one boat returned.
